The first step in obtaining a UK student visa is determining the type of visa you need, which is determined by the duration of your course. If your study lasts longer than six months, you need to apply for a student visa UK Tier 4 (General). With this visa, you can stay up to 5 years studying in the UK while also having the opportunity to work both full- and part-time jobs while you’re there.

If your course is less than six months long, you must apply for a short-term study visa, which allows you to study in the UK for up to six months but does not allow you to work. It is important to choose the right visa type because applying for the wrong visa may result in your application being rejected.
