Process for Visa Application

You might need to pay an enrollment fee to secure your place, but this will depend on the university.

You’ll need to enter information including your full name, email address, and passport number.

You won’t be able to progress with your application until your payment has been received.

Both you and your university will need to complete sections of the ST1 form. This can be done online or you can download a paper copy.

If you apply through the online portal, your application will be automatically submitted. If you’ve completed a paper form, you’ll need to take this to the nearest diplomatic mission or application center in your home country.

You must have your biometric features (photograph, fingerprints, and signature) recorded at a Danish diplomatic mission, application center, or police station within 14 days of submitting your application. It’s important to schedule an appointment in advance.
Await a decision: You’ll usually receive a decision within two months.
Denmark Student Visa Requirements
  • An acceptance letter from one of the top Danish universities
  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the scheduled date of travel
  • Residence permit fee payment proof (255 EUR)
  • Recently captured two photographs as per the mentioned photo specifications
  • Travel medical insurance
  • Confirmed flight tickets
  • Proof of accommodation - rent agreement, etc.
  • Proof of English language proficiency (Denmark student visa IELTS requirements are a minimum of 5.5)
  • Evidence that you have enough funds for your stay in Denmark (around 1,000 EUR/month)
  • Detailed information regarding your study program
  • Proof of sponsorship (if applicable)
